Framo Morat have been known since 1863 as a reliable provider of precision gears and assemblies. In the course of their 140 years plus history they have developed a wide range of transmission and actuation products including the range of electric motor driven Compacta gearboxes, LiMax & MINI linear actuators, LinearChain drives & DiscPower pancake electric motor driven planetary gearboxes. Framo Morat are also very experienced in designing, developing & manufacturing CustomDrives for higher volume customer requirements.

Compacta Slip-On Geared Motors

Compacta slip-on geared motors with intergrated limit switches are ideal drives for reversing tasks. Their compact design & low weight are achieved by using spur and worm gear transmission, combined with performance optimized size motors. The Compacta range is particularly suitable for applications with a limited amount of space. Numerous types of motors can be fitted, including 3 Phase, Single Phase AC & 24 V DC with unit output speeds ranging from 0.9 to 193 rpm and output torques from 6 to 600 Nm. Additional features, e.g. IP65 rating, ATEX 95 explosion proof, brake, fan, encoder, potentiometer are available.

MINI Electric Motor Driven Linear Actuators

The MINI range of electric motor driven linear actuators consist of 5 basic sizes with body diameters ranging from 60 to 140 mm. A choice of 3 Phase, Single Phase AC or 24 V DC drive motors are available. The actuators, except for size Mini 3, are completely manufactured in stainless steel. An large number of additional features, e.g. IP65 rating, ATEX 95 explosion proof, brake, encoder, etc. are available. Stroke lengths ranging from 100 to 800 mm, stroke speeds of between 0.5 to 181 mm/s and a stroke force of up to 26,000 N. Customised stroke lengths on request.

LiMax Electric Motor Driven Linear Actuators

The modular LiMax design uses an in-line layout of electric motor, planetary gearbox and lead or ball screw to achieve a high force rating vs the diameter of its body. The integrated stroke limit switches are fully adjustable to allow on-site adjustment to suit the application. The all stainless steel body, piston & end fittings coupled with its IP65 water jet rating enables the LiMax range to be used in exposed locations and corrosive environments. Available in two basic body size diameters of 60 mm and 80 mm, with stroke lengths from 200 to 800 mm (customisation on request), the units can deliver up to 5,000 N stroke force with stroke speeds ranging from 3 to 360 mm/s.

LinearChain Push-Pull Actuation Devices

The LinearChain push-pull chains are made from precision chain links which enables the chain to push as well as pull heavy loads. The chain links have a special profile with interlocking fingers at one end which enables the chain to to roll or fold-up for efficient storage in one direction and form a rigid thrust device in the other direction. The LinearChain is available in three basic sizes allowing stoke lengths of up to 5 meters and a maximum push force of up to 35,000 N. Compact drive units for the chain and storage magazines are readily available for all chain sizes.

DiscPower Compact Electric Motor / Gearbox Drive

The compact DiscPower electric motor driven gearbox unit incorporates an integral pancake motor driven planetary gearbox assembly and offers a space saving and economical drive solution for in-hub type applications. Applications include wheel drives in electrical vehicles and wheel chairs, boat and bow thruster drives, floor cleaning machines, automatic guided vehicles and many other industrial type applications.

With over 140 years of experience in the manufacture of gears, transmissions & actuation devices, Framo Morat have developed a high level of expertise in the design, development and manufacture of special CustomDrive assemblies to suit customer specific requirements. Past and current applications include gearboxes for lawm mowers, gear train drives for floor polishing machines, actuator units for farm tractor impliments, caravan manoevering devices, complete drive systems for stairlifts and numerous other belt drive units, actuators and gearboxes for a wide range of industrial applications.
