Spirolox, Retaining Rings, Wave Springs

Spirolox manufacture spiral wound retaining rings and compression wave springs. We have a large variety of stock sizes available to fit your needs. Also, if our stock sizes do not fit your needs, our engineering staff can design custom rings or springs to meet your special requirements.

No special tools are needed for installation or removal. Space and weight savings can most often be achieved. Locking rings are available, as are balanced rings. You have a choice of many materials and coatings. Most designs provide a 360°shoulder. Stainless steel is available in large diameters, and Spirolox offers metric sizes.

These rings are used to retain components in a variety of original equipment and replacement part applications ranging from jet engines to small electric appliances. The unique coiled-on-edge design provides a 360°shoulder for better retaining capabilities, easier installation, and greater design flexibility.

Instead of conventional round wire springs, coil springs, or wavey washers, more and more design engineers are specifying compression wave rings for taking up play and compensating for dimensional variations in tight radial and axial spaces under both static and dynamic conditions. Reason: compared to those alternatives, compact wave rings save space and provide more precise load deflection characteristics. This allows engineers to design smaller assemblies with lower free lengths and/ or lower operating heights- sometimes by as much as 50%- while improving deflection characteristics.
