Stage Adjustment Using a GROB Tower Chain
Large stage systems demand absolute reliability, precise positioning and uncompromising safety. In November 2025, GROB successfully completed the acceptance testing of a sophisticated stage installation in Ehingen, demonstrating the capabilities of the TowerChain TC60 under demanding real-world conditions.
Working alongside a technical project partner, the City of Ehingen and an independent testing organisation, the system underwent a comprehensive series of performance and safety tests. The installation, comprising four TowerChain TC60 drives, met all requirements and achieved official acceptance.
Project Highlights:
- Static load: 36 tons total weight.
- Dynamic load: 22.5 tons in motion + 10% overload.
- Partial load and extreme tests: 14 tons of additional load.
- High level of approved safety.
- Virtually silent operation and vibration-free.

The TowerChain TC60 offers 60 kN of lifting force and more than 4 metres of lift in a compact footprint. Engineered and manufactured in Germany, the push-pull chain delivers reliable, low-maintenance operation and a long service life. These characteristics make the system particularly well suited to stage technology, event venues, theatres and other applications where safety, precision and reliability are critical.
This project demonstrates how the right drive technology can help move substantial loads with precision and confidence, enabling reliable operation in some of the most demanding environments.
