Nabtesco’s strain wave gears offer absolutely zero backlash, excellent repeatability and a high torque capacity. With a compact, lightweight design, these strain wave gears are ideal for a wide range of applications from robotics and machine tools to the semiconductor industry and medical technology.

All strain wave gears can be designed and tailored to the performance, geometry, material and gearbox requirements for individual applications. This includes function, component and system integration if required.

Gear Sets

Precision gearbox component set with solid & hollow shaft.

Nabtesco strain wave gear component sets are available in various designs and sizes. This is the simplest version of the strain wave gears, consisting of flex spline, circular spline and wave generator. Supplied with a suitable, high-performance lubricant, support with integration and assembly is also available. Interfaces can be individually adapted. A central hollow shaft is available on request.

Gears Sets Plus

Precision gearbox component set with solid & hollow shaft.

In addition to the three basic components offered in Nabtesco’s gear sets (flex spline, circular spline and wave generator), the gear sets plus also have a tilt-resistant output bearing. As a result, the design and assembly effort is reduced and the gear sets plus are ready for immediate installation.

Gear Units

Plug & play precision gearbox with solid & hollow shaft.

Nabtesco’s gear units combine cutting-edge technology and ease-of-use in a compact design. The backlash-free, plug-and-play solutions are fully enclosed and feature output and drive bearings, as well as a sealing system already on board. Users benefit from outstanding performance, simple integration and reliability with a long service life.

Digital Gearboxes

Award winning digital gearboxes from Nabtesco combine impressive strain wave gear technology with smart sensors and artificial intelligence. Strain wave gears meet all of the requirements to integrate into intelligent and networks and digital production processes, all whilst maintaining the dimensions of a standard gearbox. Actuators

Plug & Play precision drive with solid & hollow shaft.

We can offer Nabtesco’s compact actuators to provide you with a complete system that makes automation much easier. With a range of customisation options available and a modular construction kit for maximum flexibility, the actuators can be supplied as hollow shaft or solid shaft, with or without brake, with or without power electronics and standard or high-voltage. Additional components such as torque sensors, temperature sensors and position sensors can be integrated. The actuators are corrosion-protected and already achieve protection class IP65, so that they can be used directly without additional enclosures and seals.

Short Gears

New strain wave gear technology.

Specially developed for humanoid robots and cobots, Nabtesco short gears offer performance optimisations such as 120% power density and 140% service life (10,000h, market standard 7,000h), whilst maintaining the same compact size.

The key components that were optimised:

• Circular spline

A cylindrical rigid ring with internal gear teeth.

• Flex spline

A cylindrical, flexible, thin-walled steel component with external gear teeth.

• Wave generator

A hub with an elliptical outer contour on which a special, radially flexible ball bearing is mounted.
